Dr Julia Shaw is a psychological scientist at University College London (UCL). She is best known for her work in the area of memory and criminal psychology.

In 2017 Dr Shaw co-founded the memory science and artificial intelligence start-up Palace, which created Spot. Spot helps people to better record and report workplace harassment and discrimination.

In 2016 she published her bestselling book "The Memory Illusion", which has been translated in 16 languages. Her next book, due to appear in early 2019, is entitled "Making Evil: The Science Behind Humanity's Dark Side". She is also a regular contributor to Scientific American.

Besides her research, she is regular keynote speaker on the topic of memory hacking. Dr Shaw also consults regularly as an expert on legal cases, particularly cases involving historical allegations.

Her work is often featured on TV, radio, in print, and online.
